The Co-operative Group’s eco-town project at Pennbury, Leicestershire, has been rejected by the Government.


The Co-operative Group has welcomed an announcement by Leicester City Council that it supports the society’s proposals for a new purpose-built eco-town on its land in Leicestershire, subject to certain conditions being met.


THE Co-operative Group has announced the acquisition of ten convenience stores in the North East of England, Yorkshire and the East Midlands for an undisclosed sum. The Group will invest almost £ 2.5 million in rebranding and refurbishing the stores, which add 17,500 sq ft of selling space to its portfolio of businesses.
