A co-operative artists’ agency is opening in Scotland – and inviting its first actors, writers and directors to join.
Ignis Artists Agency was founded by five industry professionals – Annabel Logan, Cieran Low, Myette Godwyn, Elissa Grace and Sarah Marie Mooney.
Announcing its launch on Instagram, the co-op says it is “built by artists for artists” working across disciplines including TV, film and theatre.
The team adds: “Ignis grew from a shared belief among its founders that artists can play a more active role in shaping their own careers”.
The agency plans to represent its artist-members while giving them a shared ownership of the business and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.
By using the co-op model, the team said they hope to create an agency that goes beyond traditional representation by bringing different creative disciplines together, while allowing members to help run the agency and join collective decision making.

”From the very beginning,” they said in a statement, “we knew we didn’t want to create an agency solely for actors.
“We wanted a co-operative that brought together actors, writers, and directors under one banner, recognising that the strongest creative communities are built through collaboration across disciplines.
“”Having those different perspectives in one room creates opportunities not only for individual careers but for entirely new creative projects to emerge.”
Ignis plans to provide space for creative development, networking and mutual support, while building links with casting directors, producers and other industry professionals, with the goal of connecting productions with Scottish talent.
The co-op says its first recruitment round will select five members through auditions and interviews.
Actor auditions will take place at Perth Theatre on October 15 and 16 and at the Utilita Energy Hub in Edinburgh on November 6 and 7. Writers and directors will be interviewed online.
The deadline for applications is October 6.
