Researchers from around the globe will gather to discuss co-ops as social innovators

Organisers of this year’s ICA-AP Regional Co-operative Research Conference are inviting abstracts for papers

Co-operative researchers meet in November in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, this November to discuss the potential of co-operatives as social innovators.

The 12th edition of the International Co-operative Alliance’s Asia-Pacific Regional Research Conference, on 11-12 November, is organised by the ICA-AP Committee on Co-operative Research. It will be hosted by the Department of Management of Cooperatives at the Graduate School in Sungkonghoe University.

The conference will focus on the role of co-operatives in driving innovation to address social challenges. The organisers are inviting abstracts for paper and session proposals exploring issues such as co-operative and social innovation in economy, education, entrepreneurship, finance, sustainable energy and environment, culture and art, fundraising, housing, information and digital technology, health and social care, food and media.

Submissions from researchers, students, practitioners and activists from the global south, the Arab states and countries less represented at the research conference are particularly welcomed. Abstracts can be sent by 28 July 2017 to Ashok Kumar Taneja at [email protected].

At the conference the ICA-AP Research Committee will also be presenting the Dr Mauritz Bonow Young Researcher Award. The prize is given to two researchers under 35 presenting their papers in the conference, who will receive USD $500 and USD $300 respectively.
