The 2026 Canadian Worker’s Co-operative Federation’s (CWCF) annual conference will take place online on 4-5 November.
The event will gather co-operators, developers, and leaders from across the co-operative and worker co-operative movement to explore financial sustainability, democratic governance, equity, and resilience.
CWCF promises “two engaging days of learning, discussion, and practical ideas to build stronger co-operatives and a more resilient movement together”.
It adds: “The world today is in crisis, and worker co-ops are not immune. How do we attain safety amidst uncertainty, profitability amidst precarity, and grow and change so we can not just survive but thrive?
“The answer lies in building resilient worker co-ops that can help us find our footing on uneven ground and prepare ourselves for the journey ahead.”
Sessions include a keynote panel, Building Resilient Worker Co-ops, with Yuill Herbert from Sustainability Solutions Group Co-op and Mo Manklang from the US Worker Cooperatives Federation.
There will be a fireside chat with the apex’s new co-directors Christine Clarke and Kaye Grant, in conversation with outgoing executive director and strategic advisor Hazel Corcoran.
A panel on financial management in worker co-ops will see contributions from Shylah Wolfe from Populus Solidarity Cooperative, Mario Cimet from Slate Co-operative and Solid State Community Industries, and Russ Christianson, CoopZone.
And a workshop on financial resilience includes speakers Christine Clarke from CWCF and Freedom Dreams Co-operative Education, and Daniela Guerrero-Rodriguez, a community resilience educator and leadership coach.
