Co-ops in Singapore launch #Thatsacoop contest

Participants are asked to share selfies of themselves with a co-operative for a chance to win prizes

The Singapore National Federation of Co-operatives (SNCF) has launched a contest to raise awareness about the movement.

Set up in 1980, the country’s apex body represents co-ops and their 1.38m members. The sector contributes more than $600 million to the Singapore economy.

Named #Thatsacoop, the contest encourages participants to share selfies of themselves with a co-operative for a chance to win prizes. The competition will take place between 10 March and 27 July and is open to local and international entries. Three winners will be chosen each month, standing to win SGD100 worth of vouchers.

To take part Instagram users need to follow the @sncfsg account and post an image of a co-op on their public account of a selfie with a co-op. The caption needs to include the name of the co-op, where it is from, why they like it and the hashtag #thatsacoop. The entries will be shortlisted based on relevancy, creativity and number of likes. Pictures of less featured co-ops stand a higher chance to win.
