ICA announces details of pre-Congress research events

The events, rescheduled to February 2021, will focus on co-op identity and co-op law

The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) has announced further details of the two research events that will precede the rescheduled World Cooperative Congress in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The 33rd Congress, originally scheduled for December 2020, has been postponed to to 1-3 March 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Two preparatory research events will now take place between 26 and 28 February 2021 (subject to be further rescheduling should the COVID-19 pandemic make it necessary for force majeure).

The research events are:

  • ICA Cooperative Research Conference with the theme Deepening Our Cooperative Identity will be organised on 26 and 27 February 2021.
  • The 3rd International Forum on Cooperative Law with the theme Identity of Cooperatives and the Harmonisation of Cooperatives LawsMatch or Mismatch? will be organised by Ius Cooperativum with the support of the ICA through its Thematic Committee on Cooperative Law, on 27 and 28 February 2021.

These two research events will be precursors for debates on key-themes and sub-themes of the 33rd World Cooperative Congress, building content for discussions based on scientific and analytical contributions.

Co-op researchers, experts and practitioners are invited to make submissions on the themes involving the co-operative identity.
