Co-op petrol station’s revamp creates eight new jobs

The Lincolnshire Society has reopened the site after a £1m investment

Lincolnshire Co-op has reopened a petrol station after redeveloping the site to include a purpose-built food store, creating eight new jobs.

The new-look Gibbet Nook Food Store and Filling Station – on the junction of the A153 and B1192 near Coningsby – is the result of a £1m investment.

As well as the food store, which replaced an old kiosk at the site, the revamp includes new fuel pumps and improvements to the forecourt.

The food store sells fresh and chilled food, hot food to take away, beer and wine, and also has a Costa Coffee machine. The site also includes 14 new car parking spaces for customers to use while shopping, including two disabled parking spaces.

The old kiosk stayed open while the store was being built, and was demolished when the site closed temporarily on 20 August.

Some final touches to the forecourt will be added this month, including an extra fuel pump.
