Mutual insurers grow through the crisis

New research from the Association of Financial Mutuals – which represents customer-owned mutual insurance firms – has found that, since 2008, the mutual insurance sector has grown significantly. The report says: “The financial crisis … saw renewed interest in the sector, with the result that market share increased by 50% over five years.”

EU study recommends employee ownership

A new European-wide study for the European Commission on employee-ownership has found that companies which give ownership to employees contribute more to the economy. It has recommended the establishment of an information centre to monitor employee ownership and participation, and a framework to harmonise legislation across the European Union.
