During the last 15 years mutual insurance companies have accounted for Sweden’s most satisfied customers, according to the Swedish Quality Index.
In 2012 Länsförsäkringar AB, which is jointly owned by 23 local and independent regional insurance companies commenced the publication of its annual Mutual Ownership Report which examines the attitudes towards mutual insurance companies in Sweden. The next edition (2013) will be available in English this August and will represent feedback from Sweden’s general public, politicians and relevant authorities
The 2013 report Mutual Ownership: A Modern Form of Insurance, will draw on facts from Sweden and other European countries and will test the following assumptions:
- Mutual insurance companies have been less affected by the financial crisis than listed insurers
- Mutual insurance companies have more satisfied customers than listed insurers
- Mutual insurance companies are increasing their market share
Sten Dunér, CEO Länsförsäkringar AB said: “I hope that this brochure provides some insights into customer ownership and its conditions and potential. As a local, customer-owned company, it is our duty to spread knowledge of what mutual ownership really means.”
