Families, students and people of all ages are set to visit the Choose Co-operative festival taking place on the weekend of 29-30 June at the SWALEC Stadium.
This free exhibition for Co-operatives Fortnight is a fun opportunity to learn more about co-operatives by sampling co-operative food, listening to musical performances and having the opportunity to buy co-operative produce.
Cookery demonstrations and tastings will take place in the Co-operative Group’s kitchen and there will be games and activities to keep children entertained. Workshops will also be provided and visitors will get a glimpse of the co-operative future, with a growing trend for community owned shops, pubs and even sports clubs.
Organiser of the public festival, Co-operatives UK, hopes that the event will showcase how co-operatives are a fairer way to do business.
Secretary General of Co-operatives UK, Ed Mayo said: “We are delighted to coming to Cardiff. We want to provide a fun and stimulating environment for visitors and hope that they will learn more about the fantastic work that Co-operatives do.
“Our Congress is at the heart of the co-operative movement’s national campaign, Co-operatives Fortnight — and Cardiff is our flagship public event.”
