As part of the 17 edition of the Wolters Kluwer prize, the Spanish retailer Eroski Group has been awarded an HR Prize for internal communication. The prize is an acknowledgement of Eroski’s commitment to greater transparency.
By promoting transparency of information, Eroski is also engaging with its workers, that come to identify with co-operative values and principles, transparency being one of them.
The jury awarding the prize to Eroski said that the members of the Spanish retailer get involved in the various communication processes.
The 8,467 members of Eroski have a direct say in how the enterprise is run, being represented in the Board of Directors. Furthermore, Eroski is trying to engage with all its members and transparency is key to increasing participation.
Izaskun Santamaria, responsible for internal communication of Eroski, said: “Internal communication within Eroski has a triple dimension, being aimed at informing, promoting and motivating fellow workers”. Present at the award ceremony, Ms Santamaria received the prize on behalf of Eroski.
According to Wolters Kluwer, Eroski won the HR Prize for Internal Communication particularly due to its distinct approach, having managed to integrate communication within strategic objectives, planning actions and evaluating results at various levels.
The jury deciding who receives the awards was composed of business experts and academics from across Spain.
The HR Awards of the Wolters Kluwer Group aim to recognise excellence and promote the best policies, actions and directions in terms of human resource. The Awards are a point of reference in HR.
