It gives us great pleasure to announce that registration for the 2013 ICMIF Biennial Conference and General Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa, is now open. This will be the first ICMIF Conference to be held in Africa and we are very excited about bringing the cooperative and mutual insurance world to Cape Town; as are our wonderful hosts PPS. A dedicated ICMIF Biennial Conference website has been launched and the Conference brochure is also available for download from the website.

Two of the predominant themes in the global business world today are leadership and innovation and this is where all organisations are constantly striving to improve their performance. Both these key topics will be addressed throughout the agenda at the ICMIF Biennial Conference in a programme that is targeted at Chief Executives and senior leaders of our member organisations. At ICMIF we know from delegate feedback at previous conferences that time spent at an ICMIF Biennial Conference is time well spent. We know the most precious commodity for any of our leaders is time but we also know that the most important gift leaders can give to their organisation is leadership and vision. This is what you get at the ICMIF Conference and is why so many leaders keep coming back and consider attending as an investment in their organisation’s future, the opportunity to reflect on your current strategy and to take on new ideas that benefit the member organisation. It is, after all, ICMIF’s goal to promote best practices.

ICMIF is delighted to announce two of the keynote speakers for the 2013 Biennial Conference in Cape Town:

Dame Pauline Green, President, The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), will present an update on the Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade; one year after its launch.

Francois Pienaar, Chief Executive Officer, Advent Sport Entertainment & Media Pty Ltd and. Founding Chairman, Make A Difference Foundation (MAD). Francois is a renowned speaker on the topic of leadership and is known by many as the captain of the South African team which won the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Francois will speak on the topic of “The power of sport and lessons in leadership”.

To view the Conference programme please go to the ICMIF Biennial Conference web site, where delegates can register, read event information and learn more about the conference agenda.

This year ICMIF will join forces with the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) as we are holding our conferences consecutively. The ICA Biennial Conference will take place from 1-5 November in the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Delegates attending the ICMIF Conference can also choose to either attend the ICA Conference in full or attend for the final day (Tuesday 5 November), please see the ICMIF Conference website for more information on how ICMIF delegates can attend the ICA Conference.

ICMIF anticipates a high level of attendance at our Conference this year. Please register now to secure your place.

We look forward to seeing you in Cape Town.
