Maria Eugenia Pérez, chair of the ICA Gender Equality Committee, was one of the guest speakers at the Gender Forum last week. Her commitments –she was standing as a candidate to the ICA Board at the ICA Assembly- didn’t allow her to join the conference but she wanted to send a message to all the people who attended this event.
In her message, Maria Eugenia says she is convinced the co-operative movement will be able to change practices and contribute to reverse the gender imbalance in business. Obeying to their nature, co-operatives provide a fundamental contribution to the positioning of women, not only in access to paid employment, but also in the promotion to higher levels of management.
