The International Co-operative Alliance will hold their Extraordinary General Assembly on Wednesday 31 October as part of Co-operatives United in Manchester.
The Assembly will determine the ‘Blueprint for the Co-operative Decade’, which will turn the International Year of Cooperatives into a decade of co-operation.
The General Assembly is the highest authority of ICA and is made up of Representatives appointed by ICA Members.
The General Assembly normally meets every two years, but as this is only one year after the previous Assembly, it is will be the Extraordinary General Assembly so that ICA Members can discuss and decide on a number of urgent items that cannot wait until next year.
The Blueprint will become the next 4-Year Strategic Plan for the ICA. The preliminary draft blueprint was disseminated widely in early October 2012 in a process managed thorough the ICA’s 2020 vision planning work group.
Other items that will be discussed include: possible refinements to the membership subscription formula (a required 4-year review) and categories of membership and the Relocation of the seat of the ICA to Brussels, Belgium and on its legal structure.
The session will take place between 13:00 – 16:00 in the Exchange Auditorium
Non ICA members are welcome to attend as observers.
