In the face of global market turmoil and increased regulatory scrutiny over the past 5 years, are cooperatives facing the same financing and capitalization challenges as the broader market? How does the unique structure of a cooperative make it easier or more difficult to achieve adequate capitalization? What can cooperatives learn from their peers?
To answer these questions, Deloitte conducted the first global survey of cooperative financing and capitalization practices since the 2008 global financial crisis. CFOs from the world’s largest cooperatives were asked to provide their views on how their organizations dealt with the capital crisis and how their financing and capitalization strategies are evolving.
These questions are central to the study “Funding the future: emerging strategies in cooperative financing and capitalization“, whose results will be revealed for the first time at the Summit, and discussed during the round table held on Thursday, October 11, at 9:15 a.m.
Summary of the study: This study presents findings from the survey and introduces a framework for cooperatives to strengthen their capitalization strategies in light of new market realities.
Presentation: Chris Harvey, Global Leader, Deloitte, United Kingdom
Chair of the round table: Olivier Pastré, Director, Cercle des économistes de France, France
When: Thursday, October 11, at 9:15 a.m.
All Summit participants will have access to the findings of this groundbreaking study.
