As part of Co-operatives United, the ICAEXPO will be hosting a showcase of co-operative products from around the world in a bid for co-operatives to trade co-operatively with each other.

Here, Dariush Pakbin,
 Secretary General of the
Iran Central Chamber of Cooperatives, outlines the importance of ICAEXPO and how it embodies co-operative principles:

ICAEXPO, the global trade show for the co-operative movement, along with other co-operative events can contribute to fulfill objectives of local and national co-operatives on a global scale.

This could be considered as a window that opens the door to the global market and paves the way for stakeholders and beneficiaries.

The ICAEXPO is a realisation and manifestation of co-operative principles, while it showcases the capabilities and potential of the co-operative model as a member-centered, democratic and sustainable form of economy which can stand firm against economic crisis.

Iran Central Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC) is a non-governmental, democratically controlled organization, which is representative of the Iranian co-operative movement and acts as the apex organization in this sector.

It holds a unique legal position in the Iranian national macro-economic decision-making. It also provides official services to help co-operatives to issue commercial cards, certificates of origin and international visas.

The growing economic activities in Iran and the advantages of its wide range of co-operative products can provide suitable conditions for joint investments for co-operatives from different sectors such as “Housing”, “Conversion Industries” and “Hypermarkets”, among others.

We are sure ICAEXPO will offer exhibitors significant commercial opportunities, business achievements and make strong networks among co-operative societies in different countries, strengthening their relations to expand economic relations in the following decade.

I hope the co-operative sector will improve the standard of life for all walks of society and the poor in particular. This will culminate in better living conditions for the whole community that is the fulfillment of the 7th principle of the ICA.
