Co-operatives are invited to submit their data to the new global ranking system for co-operatives called the ICA World Co-operative Monitor. “We want to relaunch the Global 300 report in 2012 with a much more rigorous methodology,” said Charles Gould (in photo), the Director-General of the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA). ICA is one of the 3 hosts of the 2012 Summit, with Desjardins Group and St. Mary’s University. “The Global 300 report is already a good, solid report, but as we raise our public profile, we need to notch up our game, and ensure greater accuracy and inclusiveness in our reporting”, said Mr. Gould. To do this, ICA will be working with the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (Euricse), who will deliver more robust data. The ICA first began ranking the top 300 co-operatives around the globe in 2005. These periodic reports, known as the Global 300, demonstrated the scale and impact of co-operatives around the world. “We’re asking all co-operatives to play their part and participate in The World Co-operative Monitor, to do so co-operatives need to fill out an online application form”, conclude Charles Gould. For further details and to fill in the application, visit the project website. Any questions should be directed to Alex Rigotti, Project Manager at [email protected]
