The Somerset County Municipal Co-op Association came out in support of Somerset County Building Inspections over the past week when the group voted unanimously to begin the process of renewing a contract with the beleaguered business.
“I’m happy. I was hoping for that. It is why I try to add new services,” said Somerset County Building Inspections owner Alan Baumgardner.
The local inspections business recently partnered with the Institute for Building Technology and Safety, a nonprofit organization based in Herndon, Va., and that action helped belie several of the municipalities concerns on whether SCBI would have enough inspectors to do the job.
“Alan assured us he with the new partnership we would have enough inspectors,” said Dan Halverson, cooperative president and a Somerset Township supervisor.
