The Queensland Teachers Credit Union is to be Australia’s second co-operative bank with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) granting QTCU permission to use the word bank. On 1 October 2011 QTCU will become QT Mutual Bank. The credit union has 79,000 members, 210 staff and 14 branches.
