Created by the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL) www.findyourcreditunion.co.uk will help the 80 per cent of people in England, Scotland and Wales who can join a credit union.
Mark Lyonette, Chief Executive of ABCUL, said: “Whether you want to save or borrow, chances are there’s a credit union near you. Now, for the first time, all of the 450 plus credit unions in Britain will be able to add their details to one website, making it easier to find a credit union — wherever you live or work.”
Visitors to the website can search for a credit union using their postcode, their employer’s name or details of any associations they belong to — such as trade unions or religious groups.
ABCUL is also relaunching its own website — www.abcul.coop — at the same time, with more focus on news and information about credit unions, as well as a new design.
