Update: An extra 80 pictures have now been added. Dozens of Co-op Movement representatives and politicians were invited to 10 Downing Street by Gordon and Sarah Brown to mark the launch of the Co-operative Party’s Friends of the Co-op Ideal grouping.

Unfortunately, the Prime Minister and his wife were unable to attend due to unforeseen developments regarding the Northern Ireland devolution process.

However Mr Brown’s Cabinet colleagues Ed Miliband and Ed Balls attended and Mr Miliband was in demand as he has been charged with writing Labour’s manifesto for the general election.

And, as the pictures supplied by photographer Zoe Norfolk show, a good time was had by all. Now the concept will be rolled out to the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly as the idea gathers momentum.
