City set for red and white army

A red and white army of fund-raising Santas are about to take over Sportcity, home of Manchester City, later this month.

It’s all part of the Co-operative Group’s inaugural Santa Dash and even dyed in the wool Blues fans will don red and white Santa outfits for the day in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the Group’s charity of the year, RNID — the charity for deaf and hard of hearing peole.

Hundreds of Santas are expected at Eastlands at 9.30am on Sunday November 29th for the five-kilometre fun event and there’s still time to enter.

Entry costs £15 for adults and £12 for juniors [aged 8-12], which includes a five-piece Santa suit (modelled above by Manchester-based Co-operative Funeralcare staff), chip timing and a medal commemorating participation. All entrants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and all runners are asked to raise as much as they can for RNID.
