John Briddon has been appointed as the Co-operative Group’s chief officer of its new North West region, with operational responsibility for 553 food stores.

Mr Briddon (41), from Lancashire, was previously a regional operations manager at United Co-operatives which merged with the Group last year. The reformed region now includes United’s former trading area.

Said Mr Briddon: “My aim is to ensure we remain focused on delivering the fantastic results we are currently achieving and delivering this with a smile. 

“A positive attitude produces positive results. High levels of customer service will be at the forefront of everything we do and we will continue to build on our solid reputation as a trusted, community retailer.”
