MIDCOUNTIES Co-op pharmacy group has acquired four additional branches from the Co-operative Group for an undisclosed sum.

The multi-million pound deal for the pharmacies in Bista and Wheatley in Oxfordshire, Dursley in Gloucestershire and Lichfield, Staffordshire, increases the society&#039s pharmacy portfolio to 45 outlets.

The society has now purchased 11 pharmacies since the formation of Midcounties Co-op just over two years ago.

Paul Byrne, Group General Manager for Midcounties Co-op Pharmacy, commented: ?"These acquisitions mark important progress and we are delighted to continue expanding our co-operative services and values.

"Each pharmacy will provide a full range of services as we look to maintain each branch&#039s excellent standards with a dedicated staff team."
