HEART of England Co-op has reported a trading profit of £ 3.5 million for the year ended January 20th.
It's the 11th consecutive successful year for the society which serves communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and south Leicestershire.?
Turnover reached £ 77.6m, an increase of £ 2.7m ? 3.6 per cent ? on the previous year. The society's trading profit represents five per cent of net sales, which is one of the Movement's better profit ratios.
Chief Executive Ali Kurji commented: "We are delighted to report an 11th successive year of trading profit, which has been achieved despite the national economic slow down and the downturn in consumer spending.
"The policies put in place in recent years have clearly been successful, and I want to thank all of our staff for their efforts."
