United Co-operatives has sponsored the National Youth Brass Band Championship for the first time, which took place in Manchester last week.
The society has joined in a two-year partnership with the British Federation of Brass Bands. United also introduces a new award at this year’s event, the Community Band of the Year, offering a top prize of £500.
United Co-operatives Society Secretary Philip Jones said: “United Co-operatives is very proud to be sponsoring the National Youth Brass Band Championship.
“The new partnership with the British Federation of Brass Bands reflects the Society’s strong tradition of involvement with brass bands and its role as a retailer at the heart of the local community.”
