FORMER Leeds Co-op Chief Executive Alan Gill has been elected as President of this year’s
Co-operative Congress in Brighton over the weekend June 22nd to 24th.
Currently an executive with United Co-operatives following the society’s merger with Leeds, which was completed earlier this year, Mr Gill has also worked over the years for North East Co-op, NACO, Norwest Society, Co-operatives UK and the United Kingdom Co-operative Council.
He told the News: “I am delighted to have been elected to serve as President of Congress and I’d like to put on record my thanks to the former Leeds Society for nominating me. I am looking forward to seeing as many co-operators as possible at Brighton.”
