THE Co-operative Party has announced details of a full programme of events and activities throughout 2007 aimed at increasing its profile and effectiveness and marking the Party&#039s 90th anniversary in style.
Emphasising the need for participation and public involvement, project co-ordinator Alun Michael MP told the News that the aim is to complement existing campaigning strategies on issues like Fairtrade and the need for carbon neutral communities, rather than distract from them.
The Party plans to highlight a particular aspect of political activity each month throughout the year that will benefit from a co-operative approach and work with like-minded organisations such as the Social Enterprise Coalition, Christian Aid/Action Aid, the Fairtrade Foundation, Supporters Direct and the Co-operative College to maximise appeal and impact. Further coverage in the News published on Tuesday 12th December.
