THE Co-operative Group has pledged to donate £ 100,000 to the relief fund set up in response to the collapse of the Christmas hamper and voucher firm, Farepak.
The Group has given its support for the new Farepak Response Fund in order to help the?many low-income families caught up in the collapse of the company.
The independent Farepak Response Fund has been set up by the Family Fund with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry. The Family Fund is an established charity that has a track record of delivering assistance to thousands of households throughout the UK. ?
Martin Beaumont, Group Chief Executive, said: "In light of these very exceptional circumstances, we wanted to lend our support to the thousands of families who, through no fault of their own, face a difficult and uncertain Christmas following the Farepak collapse."
