A MIDLANDS Co-op supermarket in Stafford has celebrated the fact that it will no longer have to put up with contraflows or cones outside its store – by holding an 'end of road-works' party.
Staff at Midlands Co-op's Silkmore Lane store dressed up in hard hats, lumberjack shirts and high visibility jackets at a charity fun day in aid of Dogs for the Disabled.
Staff at the store were keen to mark the end of the roadworks, which caused disruption for customers and employees for six weeks.
Retail Operations Manager for Midlands Co-op, Lee Cooper-Bevan, explained: "The road-works have been a source of major disruption for the store throughout the summer and everyone is really pleased that the work has now finally finished.
"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who remained loyal to us while the road-works took place and also to those who supported our fundraising event on Saturday and helped us to make it such a success. We were really pleased with the turnout on the day and we had very positive feedback to say that both customers and staff had a great time."
