POINT of Care testing has been launched at the Reddish Central, Stockport pharmacy of United Co-operatives as part of a pilot scheme in the Greater Manchester area, which also involves three other United pharmacies.
Patients are checked for a range of conditions including diabetes and given lifestyle advice under the supervision of the pharmacist. Suitable patients were sent letters by GPs and invited to receive a check at either the surgery or the pharmacy.
