A CALL centre set up to handle the new Co-operative Group membership scheme has received thousands of calls from members, many just praising the scheme .
The telephone service centre in Coventry has dealt with up to 3,000 calls a day from members since the beginning of a mailing exercise which involved over two million packs being sent out.
Director of Marketing Zoe Morgan said: "We have been delighted by the response from members. Some callers have been ringing up for more details, but many have just been congratulatory calls from people who are pleased to see the return of membership with a share of profit payment."
For the first time, Co-operative Group members will receive an annual share of the profits based on their trading with the Group's entire range of businesses.
