PUPILS from Epinay School in Jarrow got a taste of Fairtrade from Erica Kyere (front) from the Kuapa Kokoo cocoa farmers&#039 co-operative in Ghana, and Ben Yeo from The Day Chocolate Company.

Erica and Ben talked to the students about Fairtrade and the benefits of co-operatives during the visit, which was organised by the Co-operative College and arranged locally by North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op, sponsors of Epinay School – a specialist business and enterprise college.

Erica shared her experiences of the farming community where she works and described how the cocoa they produce goes to The Day Chocolate Company to make all the Co-op&#039s own-brand Fairtrade chocolate.

St Benet Biscop&#039s Catholic High School in Bedlington, another Co-op sponsored school, also welcomed the visitors.
