FORMER Membership Manager at the National Day Nurseries Association, Janet Wilson, has been appointed General Manager, Membership and Co-operative Affairs at Leeds Co-operative Society.
Janet has a proven track record in a number of membership and corporate roles, including Programme Manager at the Centre for International Co-operation and Security (CICS) at the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford, and Membership Manager for Euromax at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford.
As a member of the senior management team, Janet will play a strategic role in increasing the number of active members of Leeds Co-operative. She will also be responsible for the society's public relations activity.
"I'm delighted to have joined an organisation that achieves commercial success without compromising the ideals and values on which it was built," says Janet. "I'm looking forward to working with the members and employees of Leeds Co-operative to demonstrate that a co-operative can be both a good community organisation and a good business."
"Janet's appointment is crucial to our plans for the continued development of Leeds Co-operative," says Chief Executive, Alan Gill. "This role combines two important aspects of our organisation: membership and communications. Our active members throughout the community are one of the things that make the Co-op different, and it is important for us to communicate this message so that more and more people in Leeds join us to make the Society even stronger."
Leeds Co-operative members can contact Janet on 0113 395 6014.
