STAFF from Scottish Co-op&#039s northern stores stepped forward to help raise almost &#163 7,000 for charity.

More than 40 members of staff from Co-op stores across the north of Scotland took on an 18-mile hike from Inverness to Drumnadrochit, part of the Great Glen Way long distance path, to raise money for the Highland Hospice in Inverness.

"It was pretty wet and cold on the day but everyone put on a brave face and we are delighted to have raised so much money for such a deserving charity," said regional manager Lorraine Christie who helped organise the event.
