DEPUTY Minister for Women and Equality, Meg Munn, has been elected 2006 Congress President following a ballot of member organisations of Co-operatives UK.
Ms Munn, Labour/Co-op MP for Sheffield Heeley, said she was looking forward to the Congress weekend in Manchester from May 19th to 21st and said she regarded her selection as a great honour.
She was nominated by Sheffield Co-op and came out in front of the other two candidates, former Co-op MP Lord George Foulkes and Welsh co-operative activist Sylvia Jones.
