A PIONEERING venture between a community organisation and Plymouth & South West Co-op has led to a store being opened in the region.
The shop forms part of the Tamar View Community Centre which is situated at the Barne Barton estate in Plymouth. The store will share profits between the society and the centre.
In an area often referred to as the "forgotten island" due to its isolation and is only accessible by one road. Housing over 4,500 families the ex-MOD housing estate has limited public transport options and extremely limited shopping facilities.
