Staff and members at the Co-operative Group's Wollaton supermarket in Nottingham went Christmas crackers when they were presented with a £ 1,000 cheque for Shelter, the Group's chosen charity for the year, at a Farmers Market held at the store.
Farmers Market organiser Sally Collingham (right) presented the cheque to (from left) assistant store manager Chris Bradbury, and local committee members Herbert Daybell and Derek Tracey, as a thank you for hosting the event rent free throughout the year.
Co-operative Group staff and members got into the Christmas spirit at the market by giving away mince pies plus Fairtrade chocolate and cake, as well as promoting membership activity in the area.
