CO-OPERATIVES wanting to learn more about how they can "Demonstrate the Co-operative Difference" are being invited to events focusing on co-operative and social performance.
Co-operatives UK will host a conference in Manchester on 27th September for consumer co-operatives, highlighting best practice in the use of the key social and co-operative performance indicators.
The conference will include presentations from representatives of three co-op societies, which have made significant progress in monitoring these indicators.
It will also feature a presentation from Thomas Krick, an adviser with the internationally renowned sustainable business organisation AccountAbility.
Following the conference a workshop will be held which aims to provide advice on how to implement the two environmental indicators – CO2 emissions and the proportion of waste recycled – for a variety of co-operative organisations, and how to use this information to improve performance.
Co-operatives UK will also host a workshop in Edinburgh on 20th October for co-ops looking at implementing the social and co-operative indicators.
The aim is to ensure participants will gain an understanding of the relevance, motivation and benefits of measuring and monitoring the KS&CPIs.
