THE restoration of a popular Kidderminster park is one step closer to completion thanks to a £ 700 gift from West Midlands Co-op.
The donation provides a new bench for visitors to enjoy the views at Broadwaters Park, which is situated alongside the A449 and includes a historic water mill.
Friends of Broadwaters Park, a team of 40 local volunteers, was founded two years ago to improve the park following Wyre Forest District Council's restoration of the water mill.
Volunteer Jean Edwards said: "West Midlands Co-op's generosity is greatly appreciated by the Friends of Broadwaters Park. Financial support to pay for expensive items such as sturdy metal benches makes a huge difference in helping to improve the park."
Derek Watkins, Board Member for West Midlands Co-op, said: "The restoration of Broadwaters Park is a wonderful project that we are delighted to support. This is a fine example of the local community working together to improve the area for the benefit of all."
