THE Co-operative Group is helping disabled people in Harpenden stay supple with a £ 500 donation from its Community Dividend fund.
The Daylight Club, a social club for adults of working age with physical disabilities, has used the money to fund dance workshops for its members.
"The club aims to help disabled people avoid social isolation by providing a variety of activities including arts and crafts, drama and exercise and day trips. The dance workshops help our members keep supple, enhance their group working skills and generate a good working spirit," said club co-ordinator Salpi Gulbekian.
The Community Dividend fund is part of the Co-operative Group's Dividend customer loyalty card scheme which allows shoppers to donate the extra pence in their twice-yearly Dividend payouts to worthy causes.
