NEWCASTLE-based social enterprise company, Eaga Partnership Ltd, puts its success in the National Business Awards North East Regional Finals down to sending it&#039s leading people on a service excellence tour to the Unites States.

Annette Rowe, from employee owned energy efficiency leaders Eaga, picked up the awards for Employer of the Year and Customer Focus at a Gala Dinner in Manchester.

Eaga sends 20 of its managers year to the United States for a weeklong "Service Excellence Tour" where they spend time learning from business leaders from exceptional organisations like Colgate Palmolive, Ritz Carlton and Jet Blue airlines.

Eaga was so impressed with the impact the tours have had on their business that it recently bought the company and is now running the Service Excellence Tours business from its headquarters in Newcastle.

"The fact that the company has now added an Employer of the Year and Customer Focus award to our top 40 placing in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For Index is recognition of the success of our service excellence strategy," said Annette Rowe.

The Employer of the Year award is given to the company that best demonstrates well-adopted company values, the provision of a stimulating and supportive workplace and the active development of all employees and how it has applied its human and supporting resources to achieve commercial success.

The Customer Focus&#039 award is given to the company that best demonstrates that it has the customer at the heart of its business and deploys and manages its resources the most effectively to meet the needs of its customer base.
