CO-OPERATIVE Funeralcare has won a prestigious award from the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) – the country&#039s leading funeral trade association.
Launched in conjunction with Citation pic, the inaugural Funeral Business Awards is aimed at recognising the best health and safety and employee development initiatives taken by funeral directors, irrespective of size.
Co-operative Funeralcare, part of the Co-operative Group, picked up the &#039Outstanding Achievement Award&#039 and was declared the overall winner, for an initiative at its funeral home in Ambrose Grove, Liverpool, which used new legislative demands as a basis for business development.
The mortuary was refurbished and extended, not just to comply with health and safety legislation, but to exceed current regulations, with specific colour-coded areas for staff safety.
