WEST Midlands Co-op Travel's flagship branch in Walsall has clinched another top industry award.
The Co-op Travel Ultra store at Crown Wharf Retail Park has won the 'Best Independent Shop' category at the Travel Weekly Midlands Agency of the Year Awards.
Last year, West Midlands Co-op Travel won two major industry accolades for innovation – the Travel Weekly Globe Awards and TTG Midlands Award. The branch also topped the poll for Travel Agent of the Year at the Walsall People's Choice Awards.
Geoff Hurmson, General Manager of West Midlands Co-op Travel, said: "This latest award highlights our position as the region's leading independent travel agent – now with the number one branch in the Midlands as well."
"The staff have all worked extremely hard, combining excellent customer service skills with expertise and enthusiasm to create a really successful branch."
Co-op Travel Ultra launched in Walsall in March 2002 and the agency opened its second Ultra branch in Kidderminster 18 months ago.
The store features a range of innovative customer friendly technologies, allowing experienced travellers to search, book and pay for their holidays using in-store computers. There is also a Windows on the World lounge where customers can view videos of up to 150 destinations.
The awards were handed out at the annual Midland Travel Trade Ball at the Hilton Metropole near the NEC.
The winners were selected by a panel of travel industry judges, assessing companies across the Midlands on profitability, turnover, product knowledge and all-round strength.
