The UK's largest crane made a flying visit to Manchester as part of the ambitious project to clad the Co-operative Insurance Society's tower with solar panels.
The Terex Demag AC 700, which is the most powerful road-going telescopic crane in the world towered 133 metres over the Manchester sky-line.
The crane lifted a cradle, which will clean and maintain the photovoltaic panels once they have been fitted, on to the top of Manchester's tallest building.
The £ 5.5m solar project, expected to be completed at the end of this year, is being supported by a grant from the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the Department of Trade & Industry.
