TWO long-serving Heart of England Co-op staff have clocked up a combined 80 years service.
Michael North of the TV Service Department and Roger Forrest of Attleborough Foodcentre have each worked for the society for 40 years.
Their loyalty was rewarded with a lunch for retired and long-serving employees, where they were presented with cheques and certificates.
Roger (pictured right), from Hinckley, started working with the society as a 16-year-old, six months after leaving school. His wife, Susan, used to work for the society, and their younger daughter Sarah has done so for 10 years.
Michael, who lives in Coventry, started at the Coventry & District Co-op at the age of 23. He works in TV and audio repairs and also installs CCTV cameras at the society's branches.
Having reached the impressive 40th anniversary milestone, he is now planning to retire in March 2006.
