TRAVELCARE'S expertise in selling holidays online has been recognised with a major national award.
The organisation, part of the Co-operative Group, has been named as "Best Online Travel Agent" at the National Travel Awards, organised by trade publication, Travel Trade Gazette.
Its website, www.travelcare.co.uk, has been extensively redesigned and developed in the past year to offer a wider range of holidays and travel services as well as making it more user-friendly.
The site now attracts over 250,000 visits each month and its development is continuing as part of a wider programme of investment in technology by Travelcare, designed to help the UK's largest independent travel provider meet the changing needs of holidaymakers.
Bob Taylor, Channel Development Manager for Travelcare, commented: "This is a brilliant achievement for our e-commerce team. The internet is playing an increasingly significant role in our business and this award demonstrates that we are at the forefront of online travel retailing."
Travelcare beat a number of other websites to the national title, having already won the same category in the Northern Region sector of the awards earlier in the year.
