IT was fun all day when Batman, Noddy and some other friends in special costumes visited United Co-operatives&#039 Sunwin Department Store in Bradford to help launch the new toys and nursery section at the flagship store.

The 12-week modernisation project costing over &#163 250,000 has created a new entrance to the store, in addition to the toys and nursery section located on the ground floor of the four-storey store.

Batman ? not the one who hit the headlines by breaching security to stage a protest at Buckingham Palace – Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and an Angel joined Noddy to help launch the new section.

Steve Hudson, store manager, said: "This offering is a major boost to the town centre of Bradford and we hope it will grow coming up to the Christmas busy period. Everyone who visited the store on the launch day seemed to have so much fun, with the face painter proving particularly popular."

This refurbishment is part of a 12-month development programme of improvements throughout the Sunwin Department Stores portfolio, totalling over &#163 1,000,000.
