Staff at a Colchester and East Essex Co-op Post Office are celebrating after being named the region's best Post Office.
The Post Office, in the Co-op's department store in Long Wyre Street, Colchester, was named the best Post Office owned by a company in the south.
Though the team led by Manager Gill Christmas beat some Post Office service targets by over 300 per cent, she is adamant that it's their dedication to customer service that secured the award.
"There have been a lot of changes in the last year and it's up to us to explain them to customers and let them know which services they might benefit from," said Ms Christmas.
"It's a busy office but we try to strike a balance between providing fast, efficient service, while ensuring our customers understand our services. I'd like to thank our customers for nominating us for the award, it means a lot."
The team now has a one in six chance of winning the national awards, to be held in London in October.
This year 2,828 Post Offices entered the competition. The society has eight Post Offices in its trading area.
