THE Co-operative Group's South East Region is holding a free festival on London's South Bank on Saturday July 3rd to celebrate International Co-op Day. The event aims to promote the international Movement, but also promises to be a great day out for all the family.
The fun starts at 2pm with a line up of world music including the best in red hot salsa from the heart of Havana ? Rey Crespo y su Conga Loca; Latin jazz and dance from the Brazilian ensemble Gustavo Marques, plus the dramatic ancestral drum music from West Africa's Fon Ton From.
Alongside the music, there'll be many activities for the family including art and craft workshops for children as well as roving street theatre performances.
Food and drink stalls will offer a variety of Fairtrade tastings and there will also be information stalls from the Co-operative Group's family of businesses. Part of the Coin Street Festival programme, the event is free and will be held at Bernie Spain Gardens, South Bank, London.
